Listen to My Life Facilitator
Managing Director of oneLifemaps, LLC
Author of Listen to My Life Group Facilitator's Guide
Atlanta, GA
Rebecca’s mission is to help people move along the path of their spiritual journey. She does this by creatively organizing a framework (small groups, classes, and retreats) for people to be known – so that they can have a deeper understanding of themselves, others and God.

Recently, Rebecca and her family moved to Altanta,GA so that her husband, Jay, could serve as Pastor for Mission at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. Prior to the that, Rebecca and Jay served as Community Leaders for several years for Willow Creek Community Church in the Algonquin, IL area by leading churched and un-churched neighbors in the areas of biblical community, caring for others in crisis and in joy, and promoting compassion in their neighborhood, their area and in the world. Rebecca also promoted spiritual growth in her area by leading Women’s Small Groups in her neighborhood and teaching classes in her community.

For the past several years, Rebecca’s focus has also been in the development and rollout of the Listen to My Life materials with Sibyl Towner & Sharon Swing to help people engage their life story. She is the author of the Listen to My Life Group Facilitator's Guide, and she currently serves as the Managing Director of oneLifemaps, LLC.

Prior to her time in Illinois, Rebecca was active at First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC, where she led a Moms In Touch prayer group, and she worked with visitors, new members, and community groups for her large Sunday School class.

Rebecca earned a degree in Mathematical Sciences from Clemson University. After graduation, she worked at IBM as a Systems Engineer for 11 years until she invested herself fully in being a mom. She is currently pursuing a certificate in Spiritual Direction at Northpark Theological Seminary.

In addition to her passion for her community & spiritual growth, she is most passionate about loving her husband and their two children, Neale & William, and scrapbooking.

A Glimmer of Hope

by Cheri Hudspith, oneLife Maps Facilitator Here is the blunt truth about my first reaction to the Desires and Longings Map: “I’m not going to like doing this map. I don’t dream. I think other people are good at dreaming. I’m not one of them.” If I had not committed to going through all of [...]

God Hunt

By Deitra Shoemaker, oneLife Maps Facilitator “We cannot attain the presence of God because we are already totally in the presence of God. What’s absent is awareness.” –Richard Rohr I remember as a kid how much I loved scavenger hunts. I loved that sense of accomplishment as I found all the items as much as [...]

The Body of Christ

by Deanna Kotrla, Listen to My Life Retreat Participant Lately I have been reflecting on how thankful I am for the body of Christ. By that I mean how we are all part of His body and how when we follow God’s leading in our lives people are ministered to, sin is confessed, the lost [...]

Winter Reflections

by Carrie Johnson, oneLifemaps Volunteer I am not one for the cold. I like to be comfortable, warm and in a non-shivering state of being. And let me tell you, winter in Chicago is freezing! However, as much as I don’t like the freezing cold, I’ll tell you what I like about winter. I love [...]

An Unexpected Longing

by Jennifer Mote, Listen to My Life Facilitator During my high school years, I was introduced to running.  I was not a Cross Country girl, rather it was part of our conditioning work for Basketball.   Our gym had a running track underneath it and I would run down there on rainy days and outside in [...]

Heartache Turned to Hope

By Rebecca Madden with Stella Kasirye   In 1992, one of Stella Kasirye’s brothers was very sick with AIDS.  He was so hurt by the associated stigma and discrimination that he checked himself into a hospital in London and told the staff that he had no family.   At the time of her brother’s death, Stella was [...]

It helps one to identity satisfying activities and experiences that can be clues to one’s unique design and purpose. When I began the process of looking at my life and my Peak Experiences a few [...]
