Be Here Now
by Jean Masukevich, Yoga Instructor and Founder, Soar 4 Kids, Inc.
Deep breath in…
Long breath out…
Rooting through the sit bones, sinking, feel the earth receive you.
Rising through the crown of your head, spine is tall and straight. Belly is soft. There is room to breathe!
I breathe…
Arrive…
Notice…
Breath enters and exits through the tip of the nose.
Be… here… now.
This prayer that leads me fully into this time and space. Suddenly unaware of all the weight and strain I had been holding. Free to breathe and receive.
The Presence.
The Almighty One stands at the door and knocks.
Awaiting our return… from doing into being.
The breath… An invitation!
A reminder.
A re-union.
Here I am, Lord! I’m back!
Ahhhhh…..
Like the patient Father in the parable, He flings open the door and runs to receive me…the prodigal that I am. Wrapping me in His finest…
His Love!
This love is always there!
Will you stop straining, reaching, doing and arrive to receive the Gift?
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Will you create a little space in your day to get to know Him?
He is the “Breath of Life…” Genesis 2:7
Will you allow this knowledge to settle in?
Can you receive Him fully in the air that you breathe?
Will you carry Him into your day?

I fround this poem to be moving, inspirational, and very meaningful. Thank you!
Jean,
It has been an honor to get to know you and see how God reveals himself in your soul, your life, your work. I remember you telling me about this breath prayer “be here now” and it stopped me in my tracks. It was simple and beautiful and honest and real. Thanks for sharing it with others as a way for them to connect with God.
